Pakistani actor Shahood Alvi has made a revelation that he felt embarrassed playing a romantic role opposite actress Ramsha Khan in the drama “Ghisi Patti Mahi”. In a recent appearance on a TV show as a guest, Alvi spoke openly about his career, character choices, and this particular experience. During the conversation, he revealed that he had initially taken up the role of his own father’s character out of his own choice, as he felt uncomfortable playing a romantic role with a younger actress, given their age difference. Alvi’s daughter Arjeha’s wedding and related photos and videos have been making the rounds on social media.
He recalled that around 7 years ago, in the drama “Ghisi Patti Mahi”, Ramsha Khan was cast opposite him for a romantic role, with Khan being around the same age as Alvi’s daughter. This realization made him feel embarrassed. Alvi claimed that he requested the director to reassign him a character that was more suitable to his age, fearing that fans might question his decision to play a romantic role with a young actress. Initially, he refused to take on the role, but eventually, the script was modified to portray him as a married, matured, but flirtatious character, which was more fitting for his age.
Alvi also spoke about the limited lifespan of a hero’s screen life in Pakistan, stating that it usually lasts only up to 20 years. Those actors who continue to play heroic roles at an age when they are no longer suitable are going against natural order, he emphasized. As a renowned and accomplished actor in Pakistan, Alvi has appeared in numerous popular dramas, showcasing his acting prowess.
