Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the resumption of flights from Lahore to London, following a similar service from Islamabad. According to PIA’s spokesperson, the first flight, PK 757, will depart from Lahore on March 30. The flights from Lahore to London will land at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 4.
This development marks the beginning of operations after a six-year hiatus. The inclusion of London in PIA’s network is a significant milestone, as it is one of the airline’s initial international routes. After resuming flights, PIA will operate seven weekly flights to the UK, up from the current ten weekly flights. Prior to the ban, PIA operated ten weekly flights from Pakistan to London, and the airline will gradually increase flights in the coming weeks.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister has already announced the resumption of flights from Islamabad to London, with three weekly flights commencing on March 29. In response to the escalating tensions between Iran and Pakistan, the government has advised Pakistani citizens residing in Iran to exercise extreme caution, be vigilant, and minimize unnecessary travel. Both countries have reaffirmed their commitment to security cooperation.
