Pakistan’s Minister of State Rana Sanaullah has dismissed the possibility of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) launching a street protest or movement in the country. In an interview with Geo News, Rana Sanaullah stated that the PTI wants to hold a “pohiyeh jam” (a sit-in protest) on February 8th, which is not allowed by law. He believes that the PTI’s proposed movement has little to no chance of success.
Rana Sanaullah also emphasized that the PTI is not in a position to initiate a street movement, and that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Suhail Aftab, is engaged in unlawful activities. He further stated that the PTI should not pursue this path, as it would be an unlawful step. The Minister also mentioned that the PTI’s activities in Karachi are not a cause for concern, and that the Sindh government will not grant them permission to hold a sit-in protest in the city.
The Minister of State also mentioned that the PTI’s leadership, including Imran Khan, should not fear facing the courts if the allegations against them are false. He questioned why the PTI is hesitant to face the justice system if they believe that the allegations against them are baseless.
