PPP USA President Issues Show-Cause Notices Over Disputed Hosting Claims at Benazir Bhutto Anniversary in Dallas
Dallas / New York: The president of the Pakistan Peoples Party USA has issued formal show-cause notices to several party officials following what party leaders describe as false and misleading claims regarding the hosting of an event commemorating the 18th death anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in Dallas, Texas.
According to informed sources, Muhammad Khalid Awan, the central president of PPP USA, took strict notice of reports suggesting incorrect or fabricated attributions of hosting responsibility for the December 27, 2025, memorial gathering. Party records, the sources said, show that the event was officially hosted by Amir Makhani, vice president of PPP USA. However, some media coverage attributed the event’s hosting to other party figures, prompting concern within the party’s leadership.
In written notices sent to Senior Vice President Imtiaz Hussain Pirzada and Vice President S Shah, Mr. Awan sought formal explanations, stating that the party would not tolerate misrepresentation, fabricated reporting, or the claiming of unverified credit. The notices emphasized that recognition and representation within the party are reserved for individuals who have demonstrably rendered organizational service.
Separately, a notice was also issued to Aamir Memon, president of the Dallas chapter of PPP, seeking clarification regarding the organizational status and appointment of Syed Bilal, who was identified in some media reports as a joint secretary of the Dallas chapter. The notice stated that Syed Bilal’s name does not appear in official party records, making it necessary to immediately verify his role and any claims related to the hosting of the event.

Mr. Awan has directed all individuals concerned to submit written explanations within two weeks. Failure to do so, the notice warned, could lead to further action under the party’s constitution, including formal show-cause proceedings or disciplinary measures.
Party leaders said that the memory of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto must not be used for personal publicity or false claims, and that organizational discipline would not be compromised under any circumstances.
