The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has revealed that the recent clashes along the Pakistan-Afghan border in October 2025 were a result of Pakistan’s retaliation against India’s Operation Sundar. In a press conference, he stated that India had targeted civilians and women during the operation, which had exposed India’s true intentions.
Lt Gen Chaudhry revealed that Pakistan had given India a stern lesson during the operation, showing the world how India had been involved in terrorism. He questioned how India could justify targeting a Pakistani citizen, stating that Pakistan had not given India the right to harm any Pakistani citizen or infrastructure. The DG ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s operation, Sundar, was not yet over, and India’s mouth was still shut.
The press conference’s primary objective was to discuss the anti-terrorism efforts made by Pakistan in 2025. Lt Gen Chaudhry revealed that Pakistan had targeted terrorist groups along the Afghan border, and Afghan Taliban had attacked Pakistani posts. He added that the necessary actions were taken, and a hard message was delivered to the terrorists. In the last three months, Pakistan had closed its border, and several signs indicated the success of Pakistan’s efforts.
Lt Gen Chaudhry stated that in October 2025, Pakistan had launched a military operation against terrorist groups along the Afghan border, targeting dozens of Afghan posts within hours. He attributed the rise of terrorism in Afghanistan to the lack of an inclusive government. He emphasized that Pakistan had all the evidence of the terrorists’ identities and their hideouts, and that several terrorist organizations, including their leaders and training camps, were operating in Afghanistan.
He highlighted that terrorists had targeted civilians and soft targets, including the Jaffer Express attack, which resulted in the deaths of 21 civilians, and the attack on a civilian bus in Nowshera. All these terrorist attacks were carried out by Afghans. Additionally, Afghan terrorists had attempted to attack the APS Wana and APS Peshawar.
