Government of Pakistan is focused on resolving issues through dialogue, said Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam. He made this statement during a press conference in Islamabad alongside Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry. Muqam emphasized that the government has held several sessions with the People’s Action Committee and that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is personally overseeing the implementation of agreements.
The government has maintained that the agreements are being implemented in phases, with certain demands being met, and several others being addressed. However, Muqam also expressed concern over the increasing incidents of harassment against the nomads and the Chhabriwal community. He stated that the perpetrators are stealing their belongings, and the community is facing severe difficulties.
In a separate development, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has demoted a 16-grade officer to the 14th grade, citing the officer’s failure to comply with orders, including the smoking ban and the removal of CCTV footage. Meanwhile, a woman and her child were allegedly kidnapped from a hospital in Lahore, where they had been brought under the pretext of medical treatment. The kidnappers reportedly took the child from the hospital ward and escaped.
Pakistan’s healthcare system is also expanding its services to cater to patients from other provinces. Punjab’s hospitals are providing treatment to patients from other provinces, showing the generosity of the healthcare system. In a separate development, Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri has expressed concern over the resurgence of a propaganda network, allegedly backed by Israel and the US, which is trying to create unrest in Iran.
In a bid to ease the financial burden on the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government has reduced the prices of diesel. The new transport fare schedule has been implemented, with a 50% concession for students and special individuals. The decision was made after a recent incident at a private university, where a student had taken his life by jumping from a building. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also paid his respects to the late Begum Khaleda Zia, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and visited the Bangladesh High Commission.

In a separate development, the burial of the late Begum Khaleda Zia will take place in Lahore after the Zuhr prayer.
