Shakti Kapoor, a renowned Bollywood actor known for his negative roles in various films, has recalled a childhood incident that left him shaken. In an interview with a leading Indian media house, Kapoor revealed that his parents were not thrilled when they saw him in a particular film, which showcased him in a compromising position. This incident, Kapoor said, made him realize that his parents were not comfortable with the kind of roles he was taking up.
Kapoor recounted an incident from his early days in the film industry, where he had already gained success with his first two films and was getting ready to release a third film. He invited his parents to watch the film, but as soon as the movie started, they were shocked to see him in a compromising scene.
“My father was shocked and said, ‘What kind of character are you taking up?’ He told my mother to get up and leave the theater immediately,” Kapoor said. “He said, ‘This is not the first time I’ve seen you doing something like this, and now you’re doing it on a big screen.'”
Kapoor said his parents were concerned about the kind of image he was projecting and were not happy with the way he was portraying himself on screen. However, Kapoor was determined to pursue his career and told his parents that he was doing what he was meant to do.
“I told them, ‘You gave me life, and this is the face you gave me. No one is going to give me a hero or a good person’s role just because of my face,'” Kapoor said.
The incident, Kapoor said, made him realize that his parents were not comfortable with the kind of roles he was taking up, but he was determined to continue his career.
