The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan, led by Dr. Farooq Sattar, has announced the launch of the Karachi Rescue Mission to achieve the country’s economic targets. Speaking at a press conference in the Bahadurabad center, alongside MQM Pakistan’s leader Haider Abbas Rizvi and Amin ul Haq, Dr. Sattar highlighted the dire need for a comprehensive approach to tackle the city’s issues.
Dr. Sattar emphasized that Karachi’s survival and prosperity are linked to the country’s overall well-being. He stated that Karachi plays a crucial role in the nation’s future development and growth. The MQM leader pointed out that the city is plagued by numerous problems, including street crime, lack of basic amenities such as water, roads, and sewage facilities, which need to be addressed by all stakeholders, including politicians and community members.
Dr. Sattar further mentioned that the MQM will expose the issues faced by Karachi and host a joint seminar to discuss the city’s problems. He highlighted the need to address the issues of corruption, fake domicile certificates, and heavy fines imposed on citizens. The MQM leader emphasized that the Karachi Rescue Mission aims to raise awareness about the city’s importance and involve all stakeholders in finding solutions.
Haider Abbas Rizvi, MQM Pakistan’s leader, said that the party will raise the issue of Karachi’s infrastructure development and highlight the governance crisis in the country’s four provinces. He stated that the MQM will take the issue of Karachi’s development to all assemblies, including the National Assembly, Sindh Assembly, and Senate.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the Sindh Police have arrested a suspect, Musarrat Hussain, in connection with the murder of four people found dead in a manhole in the Maimkhana area.
In other news, the People’s Party leader, Aitezaz Ahsan, has criticized the US for taking control of the country’s largest oil reserves. He stated that American oil companies will now extract oil from Venezuela.
In a separate incident, the police have arrested a suspect for the murder of Javed Butt, who was killed by motorcyclists on Canal Road last year.
In a related development, the police have identified the victims of the recent manhole tragedy in Maimkhana. The victims were identified as Anila and her three children, who were found dead in a manhole.
The Sindh Minister for Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has ordered the installation of covers on all manholes to prevent any further accidents.
