Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, Tahir Chaudhry, has expressed his thoughts on the recent diplomatic developments with India, stating that the Indian Foreign Minister’s handshake should be genuine, and not hypocritical. He emphasized that India has consistently shown hypocrisy in its diplomatic gestures.
Recalling the past, Tahir Chaudhry pointed out that India has never acknowledged Pakistan’s equality in the field of sports. However, the May war has changed the global scenario, and now Pakistan is being taken more seriously by the international community.
According to the Minister, India not only lost the war but also its narrative was defeated. He further stated that the Pehalagam and Pulwama incidents were a conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Tahir Chaudhry asserted that wherever there was chaos, the law will take its course, and the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will not be allowed to use its resources for such purposes.
Regarding the recent controversy between Minister for Information, Fawad Chaudhry, and Information Secretary, Asma Bukhari, Tahir Chaudhry expressed that the language used was not suitable. He questioned what options were left after the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister made certain remarks.
The Minister added that Asma Bukhari, despite being a woman, was responding strongly, and if such individuals are not taken to task, they may believe that their aggressive behavior is going unchecked.
Tahir Chaudhry further stated that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had also expressed its disapproval of its founder, and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is following the same path.
He emphasized that Nawaz Sharif is not missing, and the PTI leadership should focus on their own actions rather than making false accusations. Tahir Chaudhry added that at present, the government is led by Nawaz Sharif, and all the guidelines are set by him.
The Minister praised the partnership between Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), saying that it has yielded positive results. This partnership has helped Pakistan to emerge victorious in the war against India and has improved the economy.
Tahir Chaudhry expressed his confidence in the current leadership, saying that he didn’t see any bowler who could take the partnership of Shahbaz Sharif and the CDS to task.
The Minister further stated that the government’s primary focus is on resolving the country’s issues, and there is no personal ego involved. He emphasized that Pakistan’s interests and the country’s well-being take precedence over individual interests.
Regarding the PTI’s stance on the May 9 incidents, Tahir Chaudhry expressed that the party’s founder had a different agenda, and the party’s current actions are not aligned with the country’s interests.
The Minister added that the PTI’s founder has a different vision for the country, which is not focused on resolving Pakistan’s issues. He emphasized that the government is always ready to engage in dialogue with the PTI, but it will not compromise on the country’s interests.
