In a bid to ease the country’s ongoing political tumult, Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Adviser for Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has emphasized the need for top leaders to foster trust among themselves. Speaking to Geo News’ program ‘Capital Talk’, Rana Sanaullah stated that the President, Prime Minister, PTI founder, and other prominent leaders must come together to build confidence in each other. He also stressed that this move should be facilitated with the support of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
According to Rana Sanaullah, PTI’s social media campaigns against institutions should be discontinued, which would lead to a more favorable situation. He suggested that PTI could easily open the path for a meeting with its founder, given that the latter has been imprisoned.
Rana Sanaullah proposed that social media accounts used for campaigns against institutions be shut down. PTI’s leadership cannot claim to have no control over these accounts, he emphasized. He added that the PTI leadership should disassociate themselves from these accounts.
The Adviser highlighted that a meeting between PTI’s founder and his sister, who has met with Rana Sanaullah, was followed by a request not to speak to the media. This, he noted, was a crucial instance where the PTI leadership was instructed to maintain secrecy.
Rana Sanaullah predicted that PTI’s appeal of February 8 would go unanswered, implying that the party would not achieve its goals. He emphasized that the situation would only improve when efforts are made to increase trust among the five top leaders, including PM Shahbaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, and PTI’s founder.
As long as trust-building measures are not undertaken among these leaders, a breakthrough would be unlikely, Rana Sanaullah stressed. He also stated that his interactions with Maulana Fazlur Rehman would not lead to a breakthrough.
The adviser further mentioned that a recent incident in Rawalpindi, where four robbers were killed in a police shootout, has led to the issuance of a notice to witnesses to appear before the court on January 10. He added that the court would hear the pleas of the public to reach a verdict in the May 9 cases.
In Karachi, a shootout in Orangi Sector 9 resulted in the arrest of two robbers. The severe fog in various parts of Punjab disrupted daily life, with several motorway sections closed.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, said that the country’s victory in the war has given it a unique position on the global stage. The Foreign Minister emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy are the only ways to resolve issues.
A leading Islamic scholar, Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza, stated that PTI’s founder is facing exceptional hardships in jail, a situation that is not unusual for someone who has spent two years in prison. According to an FIR, the kidnappers broke into the woman’s house and kidnapped her and her family members.
A report by the Statistics Department revealed that there has been a significant increase in digital connectivity in Pakistan, with 96% of households having access to mobile or smartphone facilities. The National Disaster Management Authority has issued an alert regarding the severe fog.
Pakistan’s former cricket captain, Shahid Afridi, stated that he is willing to engage in discussions with the establishment to improve the dialogue on provincial issues. In a separate incident, a wounded deer was spotted in the Pesarwar Sojuwali area of Siyalqot.
Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met separately with Sindh Chief Minister Saeed Murad Ali Shah and IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho. In a separate incident, four bodies were found in a manhole in the Mai Kolachi area of Karachi.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy are the only ways to resolve issues.
