Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has stated that true progress is that which benefits every poor worker. She added that the marginalized groups, who have been standing under open skies for years, now have a roof over their heads. Under the directives of the Punjab Chief Minister, the provincial government has allocated stalls to vendors through a lottery system as part of the ‘Sahoolat Aan Di Ga Bazaar’ program. Ten locations in Lahore have been designated for the bazaars, and five more locations will be made functional by February.
According to a spokesperson for the Punjab government, the bazaars will offer fruits, vegetables, chicken, and other essential items at discounted rates, similar to those available during Ramadan. Citizens had been expressing disappointment with the current situation.
