PTI UK Deletes Statement on Field Marshal after Backlash
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) UK has deleted its statement on a woman’s speech related to Field Marshal after a backlash on social media. The statement on social media claimed that the PTI UK had no association with the woman’s speech during the protest in the UK. Sources claim that the protest was held outside the Pakistani consulate in the British city of Bradford.
According to the PTI UK’s statement, the woman is not a party official, and her views, language, and style of speech do not reflect the party’s stance. However, the tweet is now deleted from the PTI UK’s official social media account.
It is worth noting that the Government of Pakistan had written a letter to the British government last week, urging them to take action against those responsible for spreading terrorism, violence, and instability in Pakistan from British soil. The letter was addressed to the British Home Office, requesting them to take action against individuals involved in negative activities.
The spokesperson for the High Commission stated that the relevant material will be investigated by the British police according to the law, and if any illegal activity is found, a criminal investigation may be initiated. The letter also stated that the PTI UK’s social media account was linked to a video circulating, which called for the assassination of the Army Chief. This material is not propaganda or politics but openly incites the murder of a high-ranking military officer of a UN member state.
The letter further stated that PTI-linked platforms have consistently issued calls for chaos and violence. The letter demanded that the UK identify and investigate individuals making calls for murder and violence and bring them to trial.
