The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces, General Syed Asim Munir, attended Christmas celebrations at Christ Church in Rawalpindi. According to the ISPR, the COAS celebrated this occasion of joy with the Christian community and extended his heartfelt wishes to the Christian community on Christmas. The ISPR further stated that General Munir expressed his good wishes for peace, harmony, and prosperity and paid tribute to the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that if any minority citizen faced injustice or oppression, the law would take full effect. On this occasion, General Syed Asim Munir highlighted the vision of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who emphasized equality, freedom, and religious tolerance. General Munir also appreciated the services of Pakistani Christians in national development and security.
General Syed Asim Munir emphasized the importance of interfaith harmony, mutual respect, and unity, stating that Pakistan’s strength lies in its equal opportunities and common values enshrined in the Constitution. The Ministry of Meteorology warned that a western wind system could affect the city from Tuesday to Wednesday, leading to an increase in cold intensity.
In a separate incident, a gang of robbers identified themselves as professionals of an anti-wheel lifting cell and kidnapped the owner of the car along with the vehicle. On December 25, security forces conducted an operation in Kohlu district of Balochistan after receiving information about the presence of Indian proxy terrorists.
