The National Registration Examination (NRE) Step-I results have been announced. The examination was conducted by the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) in Rawalpindi on December 14, 2025. As per the policy of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), all essential stages of this crucial examination, including paper-setting, result preparation, and final announcement, were entrusted to NUMS. According to the statistics, a total of 7,076 applicants (6,993 medical and 83 dental) registered for the examination, out of which 7,012 applicants appeared in the test. Out of these, 1,473 applicants were declared successful (1,467 medical and 6 dental). The medical applicants’ success rate was 21.17%, while the dental applicants’ success rate was 7.23%. A total of 64 applicants were absent from the examination. As per PMDC law, foreign medical graduates (FMGs) are required to appear in two National Registration Examinations per year. Prior to this, the NRE held on June 25, 2025, saw a total of 5,035 applicants (4,994 medical and 41 dental) register for the examination. Out of these, 4,994 applicants appeared in the test. A total of 1,252 applicants were declared successful. The overall medical success rate was 25.26%, while 41 applicants were absent. The results have been uploaded to PMDC’s website. Each applicant can check their result, pass or fail, by using their specific roll number. The dates for the NRE Step-II (Clinical Examination) will be announced soon. Those applicants who are successful in both stages will be issued temporary registration certificates by PMDC for House Job in the country or abroad. PMDC confirms that the mentioned results are prepared in accordance with its standard policy and international norms, based on merit. Furthermore, PMDC advises parents and students to obtain admission in only standard and recognized medical and dental colleges, especially in a noble profession like medicine, which is directly related to human lives. Parents should acknowledge the fact that selecting unrecognised or low-standard institutions not only jeopardizes their children’s professional future but also leads to irreparable loss of hard-earned financial resources and valuable time and years of hard work. PMDC emphasizes that the responsible educational decisions made today are the only guarantee of the dignity and safe future of medical professionals.
