Pakistani actor and social media influencer, Tahsin Wajahat Chaudhry, has made a jaw-dropping claim that he was the first person to audition for renowned singers Atif Aslam and Goher Mumtaz. Chaudhry, a talented Pakistani actor, social media influencer, and model, has gained recognition for his role as Halaal Pasha in the drama serial Ferry Tale. He has showcased his acting prowess in numerous successful TV commercials and dramas, including Mem Sahib Se Mohabbat and Meri Behuaai.
Recently, Chaudhry appeared as a guest on a podcast, where he revealed that he had auditioned for Aslam and Mumtaz during their early days as singers. According to Chaudhry, Aslam and Mumtaz were students at the Pakistan Institute of Computer Studies (PICS) college when he auditioned for them. He claimed that his cousin’s nephew was a well-known singer at the time and had sung for Shah Shahid’s films.
The college had secretly invited Chaudhry to be a judge for a singing competition, and he was asked to recommend a few names for the role. Chaudhry revealed that Goher Mumtaz himself came to pick him up for the audition, while Atif Aslam arrived at his place before the audition began, informing him that he had a flu but his voice was fine. Chaudhry decided to let Aslam perform, and later selected him for the role.
During the audition, Aslam sang the popular Pakistani song “Haath Se Haath Kya Gaya,” which was originally sung by Sonu Nigam. Chaudhry clarified that Mumtaz was not auditioning as a singer but as a music composer at the time.
