Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Kundi has urged protesters to seek justice through lawful means instead of resorting to demonstrations. In a media briefing in Peshawar, he said that people should approach the courts to resolve their issues, as everyone has the right to legal recourse. The Governor emphasized that the province cannot afford to engage in a state of confrontation and that the rights of the province cannot be secured through chaos.
He stated that protests are merely an attempt to keep party workers energized. The federal government, he said, has shown political maturity by opting for dialogue, whereas despite previous offers of talks, incidents like the May 9 attack have occurred in the past. The Governor added that operations against terrorists will continue in Sindh and Karachi.
If Pakistan can respond to India within a few days, dealing with terrorists is not an insurmountable task, he said. According to police reports, five police personnel lost their lives in the firing, and three others, including a husband, were injured. The perpetrators escaped after the shooting.
The spokesperson for the Motorway Police said that three people were also injured in the incident and were shifted to the hospital. Governor Faisal Kundi praised the contributions of the Christian community, saying that their services are a shining example of our collective progress.
