Islamabad: A high-level phone call between Pakistani De facto Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sahabzada Yakub Khan and his Turkish counterpart has highlighted the importance of bilateral ties between the two nations. The conversation centered on key aspects of their relationship, including regional and global issues, trade, investment, and public diplomacy.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two foreign ministers discussed the latest developments in Palestine and Gaza, reaffirming their commitment to promoting regional peace, stability, and development. The officials also emphasized the need to enhance cooperation on education, as Pakistan’s Minister for Education, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, stressed that improving the quality of education is a top priority, with Pakistan’s youth being the future of the nation.
In another development, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Nasirul Mulk, called for the government to provide details on the effectiveness of the law if the country’s elite are allowed to get away with minor punishments. The remarks came as a result of the hearing on a contempt of court case against Vice-Chancellor of the University of Karachi, Prof. Khalid Iraqi, and Registrar, Prof. Imran.
