In a significant move towards revitalizing industrial infrastructure in Sindh, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah presided over a meeting in Karachi that brought together key stakeholders, including Katti, SITE, BQATI, and other prominent industrial associations. The meeting was also attended by provincial ministers, Chief Secretary, Mayor, and Commissioner Karachi, among others.
According to a spokesperson, the Chief Minister has approved $143 million in funds for industrial zones, and the first phase of repairs to roads and infrastructure in industrial areas has been approved. The Chief Minister stated that the funds have been allocated fairly, after consulting with the Mayor and Commissioner Karachi.
The spokesperson further revealed that $70 million has been approved for SITE Super Highway Phase 1 and 2, while $86.55 million has been approved for North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry and $100 million for Bin Qasim Association of Trade and Industry. The Chief Minister emphasized that the project will be completed with financial assistance from the Infrastructure Development Sector.
The Chief Minister also directed that the PC-1 be finalized after seeking approval from the Cabinet Finance Committee. Additionally, he instructed the establishment of an oversight committee to ensure transparent implementation.
In a separate development, the Sindh government’s spokesperson, Saadia Javed, commented on the recent script by Farooq Sattar, leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), stating that the people will not be deceived further.
