The Islamabad High Court has granted interim bail to popular Pakistani TikTok star Zarrar Nafees in a case related to the promotion of online trading apps without a license. Additional Session Judge Salman Mansoor Qureshi heard the case and granted the interim bail. The court has also restrained the National Cyber Crime Agency (NCCIA) from arresting the accused until January 6th. Zarrar Nafees, a British-Pakistani TikTok star, has stated that he will face investigations by the NCCIA upon his return to Pakistan. The court has ordered the accused to join the investigation.
It is worth noting that Zarrar Nafees had previously stated that he would face investigations by the NCCIA upon his return to Pakistan. In an interview with Geo News, he expressed hope that the agency would treat him fairly, citing his experience as an eyewitness to the arrest of Rizwan and Nadeem Naniwala. Zarrar Nafees claimed that he had not participated in the initial inquiry due to fear of blackmail and harassment, as he was concerned about being treated like a “Diki Bhai” (a reference to a notorious Pakistani YouTuber who was recently released on bail). Zarrar Nafees stated that he would return to Pakistan on January 1st and planned to accompany Rizwan and Nadeem when they returned, but they left without informing him.
