Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has concluded an official visit to Libya, marking a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral defence ties between the two nations. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal held meetings with the Commander-in-Chief and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, during which they discussed matters of mutual interest and regional security.
The ISPR further stated that the discussions also encompassed the possibility of enhancing defence and military cooperation between the two countries. As a mark of respect, the Libyan armed forces presented the Field Marshal with the Guard of Honour. Both sides emphasized the importance of cooperation in training, capacity-building, and counter-terrorism.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening defence ties with Libya, based on mutual interests. The Libyan Commander-in-Chief praised the professional expertise of the Pakistan Armed Forces, expressing a desire to expand defence cooperation between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Director of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions in Sindh has expedited action against private educational institutions that have failed to comply with the Freedom of Information Law. According to MQM sources, Shumaila Imran Farooq was undergoing cancer treatment in a London hospital. MQM Pakistan’s leader, Dr Farooq Sattar, stated that until the role of the mayor is clearly defined in the law, community policing cannot be effective.
The Ministry of Water Resources revealed that the Pakistani Commissioner for Sindh Basin had written to India regarding water scarcity.
