In a significant development, the Islamabad Police has witnessed a record 1039 promotions in 2023. According to the police spokesperson, five head constables have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), while 38 constables have been elevated to the rank of head constable. In addition to this, ten Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) have been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP), 27 inspectors have been promoted to the rank of DSP, and 94 sub-inspectors have been promoted to the rank of inspector.
Furthermore, 189 ASIs have been promoted to the rank of sub-inspector, 311 head constables have been promoted to the rank of ASI, and 388 constables have been promoted to the rank of head constable. Additionally, 40 clerical staff have also been promoted to higher positions. In a statement, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad said that any officer who is eligible for promotion will be promoted immediately. The Islamabad Police officers are dedicated to serving the public day and night.
In another development, the Director of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions in Sindh has expedited action against private educational institutions that have failed to implement the Freedom of Information Act 2013 and the Sindh High Court’s decision in case number 1592/2025.
