In a scathing attack on the opposition, Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz recently stated that every province in Pakistan has a significant amount of NFC (National Finance Commission) funds allocated to it, with Punjab receiving the least share under the NFC share. Speaking at a laptop distribution ceremony in Lodhran, Maryam Nawaz said that the funds allocated to Punjab are being spent on the people, who claim that the province has a lot of money, but in reality, it is being used to cover up their incompetence and corruption. The Chief Minister emphasized that those who criticize her should follow the protocol, as the people of her province are starving and the roads are in shambles.
Maryam Nawaz assured the public that the government is committed to eradicating violence against children and heinous crimes. She also announced that 2026 will be the year of the youth in Punjab, and she will work to make the province a model for the world. The Chief Minister revealed that over 80,000 students will be provided with scholarships in the next 12 months and half a million houses are being built in the province in the next year. She added that the “Clean Punjab” initiative is working diligently to provide clean roads and cities.
The Chief Minister also praised the CCPO (Capital City Police Officer) for his efforts in maintaining law and order in the province, saying that he is doing a great job in keeping the province safe from crimes. Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the police are taking swift action against harassment cases, and those who fail to maintain peace and order will face the consequences.
Meanwhile, in Sindh, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has directed the removal of teachers with administrative positions in public universities. The Director of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions in Sindh has taken swift action against private educational institutions that fail to implement the Free Ship Law.
In other news, MQM sources have confirmed that Shamaila Imran Farooq, a key leader of the party, is undergoing cancer treatment in London. MQM Pakistan’s leader, Dr. Farooq Sattar, has stressed the importance of defining the role of the mayor in the law, stating that community policing cannot be effective without it.
In a separate development, the Ministry of Water Resources has stated that the Pakistani Commissioner for Sindh has written a letter to India regarding the water shortage. In Karachi, an industrial area meeting was held, chaired by the Chief Minister of Sindh, to discuss the infrastructure of industrial areas. Representatives from various industrial organizations, including KATI, participated in the meeting.
