In the footage, the woman can be seen being beaten and kicked, with her even being pushed down the stairs during the ordeal. According to police officials, the incident occurred on 11 December, and the accused, Noaman, is still at large.
The police have registered a case against the victim, who has reportedly been identified as a member of the MQM. In a related development, the MQM’s central leader, Dr. Farooq Sattar, has stated that the police cannot be effective without a clear definition of the mayor’s role in the law.
