Shakargarh, Pakistan β Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal voiced profound concern over Pakistan’s sensitive political environment, asserting that the country “cannot afford further chaos” at this critical juncture. He issued a clear ultimatum to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), demanding that they define their allegiance: whether they stand with the State of Pakistan or with their controversial leadership.
Speaking to the media in Shakargarh, Ahsan Iqbal strongly backed the stance of the Armed Forces amid recent political tensions. He stated that the Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) had accurately “represented the nation’s sentiments” through his recent press conference.
The Federal Minister lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces for their historic successes in the fight against terrorism and paid tribute to their immense sacrifices. However, he issued a stern warning to those criticizing the institutions.
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that “criticism of the state and the Armed Forces for political gain amounts to anti-nationalism.” According to him, prioritizing national security over political interests is paramount at this time.
His central message was directed at the PTI, where he declared, “The PTI must decide whether it is with the state or with the controversial leadership.” This statement highlights the current political polarization and raises significant questions about the nature of the relationship between the nation’s institutions and a major political party.
