The public frustration against the Indian private airline IndiGo has escalated, with Bollywood actress Mehreen Pirzada openly slamming the carrier. The 30-year-old actress vented her anger on social media, telling IndiGo to “Go to hell” due to its consistent negligence regarding flight delays and allegedly misleading passengers with incorrect schedule updates.
😠 Accusations of Negligence and Misinformation
📢 Mehreen’s Complaints
Mehreen Pirzada strongly criticized the IndiGo staff for negligence, providing misinformation, and stranding passengers at airports. Her primary complaints focused on two critical issues:
-
Misleading App: She pointed out that flights are displayed as being on time on the airline’s app, only to be cancelled at the last minute. She called this situation negligent and misleading for travellers.
-
Unacceptable Chaos: The actress demanded that the airline must correct its schedule according to the new regulations, emphasizing that the chaos created for passengers is unacceptable.
🏛️ Government Action
This furious public reaction comes as IndiGo continues to suffer from a severe pilot crisis, leaving thousands of passengers stranded across the country. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued stern directives to IndiGo, ordering them to rectify their schedule, issue refunds, and provide necessary facilities to affected passengers.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has also granted temporary exemptions to the airline’s crew duty norms to help manage the current crisis. In its response to the actress, the airline apologized for the inconvenience but maintained that Mehreen Pirzada’s flight was operating on time.
