In a major move aimed at ensuring public tranquility and a healthier environment, Dubai authorities have announced the installation of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) radars to monitor vehicles generating excessive noise. This initiative leverages technology to tackle noise pollution within the city.
Dubai Police will utilize these AI radars to meticulously track unusually loud vehicle sounds, seeking to drastically reduce noise pollution in urban areas. Severe financial and regulatory penalties have been introduced for violators.
Vehicles identified as overly noisy will face a fine of 2,000 AED along with 12 black points added to the driver’s license. Furthermore, in a stringent measure, drivers will be required to pay a hefty fine of 10,000 AED to secure the release of a vehicle seized for this offense. Dubai Police also confirmed that fines will be imposed for instances of excessive honking or playing loud music inside the vehicle.
