Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has issued a compelling call to the nation, urging citizens to embrace a new priority: the battle for economic progress. He stated: “The battle for righteousness (Maraka-e-Haq) was won by the military; the battle for development (Maraka-e-Taraqqi) must now be won by us civilians.” He emphasized that a collective national commitment is necessary to ensure the success of ongoing development projects.
Addressing a rally in Mauza Budhan, Shakar Garh, Ahsan Iqbal noted that the same spirit of sacrifice that led the country to victory in the security sphere is now required for achieving national development milestones.
The Federal Minister linked the current security challenges to external regional rivalry, alleging that India is sponsoring acts of terrorism within the country as a means of seeking revenge for its defeat. He stressed that peace, tranquility, and political stability are critical preconditions for the full success of government policies.
He praised the “revolutionary development projects” initiated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Punjab, but simultaneously criticized the opposition. Ahsan Iqbal specifically accused the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of providing protection to terrorist elements operating in that region.
