The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), in an effort to maintain transparency in the electoral process, has issued a formal notice to Senator Talal Chaudhry, Minister of State for Interior, for allegedly violating the code of conduct. This action places institutional scrutiny on a high-ranking government official during the election period.
According to the ECP Punjab spokesperson, the notice was served following the Minister’s recent visit to the PP-116 constituency and his subsequent media talk, both of which were deemed to be in breach of the established electoral rules.
The District Monitoring Officer (DMO) of Faisalabad formally issued the notice to the federal minister regarding the violation. The ECP spokesperson stated that Senator Talal Chaudhry has been instructed to submit his written response to the notice within two days. This prompt action by the Election Commission highlights the strict requirement for all political figures to adhere to rules and regulations during the election phase.
