Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone in its judicial history as the nation’s first-ever Federal Constitutional Court officially began its formal proceedings today.
The inaugural hearings, marking a new chapter for the country’s legal framework, commenced in courtroom number two of the Islamabad High Court. A three-member bench, led by the honorable Chief Justice Aminuddin, is presiding over the initial cases.
Joining the Chief Justice on this historic bench are Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice Arshad Hussain Shah.
To facilitate the new court’s operations, Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan has constituted a total of three benches. While the first bench is led by the Chief Justice himself, Bench 2 includes Justice Hassan Rizvi and Justice K K Agha. Bench 3 is composed of Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Rozi Khan, all poised to contribute to this new judicial body.
