Renowned Pakistani fashion designer and actor Deepak Perwani, who belongs to the Hindu community, recently offered candid insights into his personal life and the challenges of his acting career in the Pakistani media industry.
Perwani, who has gained recognition for his roles in various dramas and is currently being praised for his performance in ‘Jummah Taqseem,’ reflected on his upbringing in a joint family system in Mirpur Khas and Karachi, stating that children particularly enjoy the support of a large family unit.
However, the conversation shifted to his professional commitments when he revealed an unusual filming experience. He disclosed that he felt a certain hesitation while shooting a scene inside a mosque for an upcoming drama.
The actor explained that some scenes were challenging for him, particularly those that required the use of unfamiliar Islamic terminology, such as Tajweed. Despite the personal reservation, Perwani affirmed his commitment to his profession. He stated, “It is part of an actor’s range that once you take on a role, you must fulfill it entirely.” When asked by the team whether he could perform the scene, he readily agreed, prioritizing the professional demand of fully embodying his character with dedication. This experience highlights the cross-cultural dimensions often explored within the nation’s entertainment sector.
