Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has made a series of explosive political allegations, claiming that Bushra Bibi, the wife of the PTI founder, had an operational role, working for the former Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), retired General Faiz Hameed. The Minister made these sensational claims during an exclusive interview with Geo News.
Khawaja Asif alleged that the intelligence shared by Bushra Bibi often proved accurate within a few days. Validating a report published in The Economist, the Minister asserted that the PTI founder was fully under the control of both General Faiz Hameed and former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. He further claimed that the PTI founder had removed the current Army Chief, General Asim Munir, from his previous post as DG ISI due to dissatisfaction with a report he had submitted.
The Defence Minister declared that “a grave mockery was made of Pakistan,” suggesting that a woman was utilized as a political instrument for power and that a systematic plan of plunder and looting was executed over four to five years. He alleged that the PTI founder received a portion of the illicit funds, with the remainder being moved out of the country.
Addressing the judiciary, Khawaja Asif claimed that the Supreme Court judgments delivered against Nawaz Sharif were part of a planned operation. He supported the new law regarding judicial transfers, stating that while the judiciary must be independent, it should not operate in the manner seen under previous judges like Saqib Nisar and Ijaz ul Ahsan.
Raising national security concerns, Mr. Asif concluded that the command of the country had been dangerously handed over to “superstitious practices.” He stated that General Faiz Hameed was controlling both the courts and the PTI founder, warning that “had Bushra Bibi fallen into the hands of an enemy country, serious dangers could have arisen for the nation.”
