International Competition: Pakistan has managed to secure two medals in the boxing event at the ongoing Islamic Solidarity Games in Turkey, despite both Pakistani boxers facing defeat in their respective semi-final bouts after delivering spirited performances. Their successful run to the semi-finals earns both athletes the distinction of being awarded Bronze Medals.
In the Men’s 55kg category, Pakistani boxer Qudratullah was defeated by the Egyptian boxer in an extremely close and thrilling contest, ending with a 2-3 scoreline. The match remained uncertain until the final bell, with Qudratullah narrowly missing out on a spot in the final.
Similarly, in the Women’s 60kg category, the Pakistani boxer Fatima Zahra was defeated by her opponent from Uzbekistan in the semi-final. Both athletes demonstrated grit and skill, competing against top-tier contenders from Muslim nations across the globe.
In accordance with the tournament rules, despite the semi-final losses, both Qudratullah and Fatima Zahra will be awarded the Bronze Medal for their commendable performance. Their achievement underscores Pakistan’s growing capability and presence in the sport of boxing on the international stage.
