Quetta — Pakistan Railways has been forced to repeatedly cancel two of the country’s major train services, the Jaffar Express and the Bolan Mail, citing technical reasons. This operational disruption has caused significant distress and inconvenience to hundreds of long-distance commuters.
Jaffar Express Status:
- The Jaffar Express, which runs between Quetta and Peshawar, was cancelled for today (November 09).
- The Railways spokesperson confirmed that the train will also remain cancelled on November 12 and November 13.
- The primary cause for this cancellation is that the train failed to commence its journey from Peshawar yesterday, consequently preventing its scheduled arrival in Quetta today.
Bolan Mail Cancellations:
- The Bolan Mail, connecting Quetta to the metropolis of Karachi, has also been cancelled for yesterday and November 13.
- Officials further elaborated that the train will not arrive in Quetta today (November 09) because its departure from Karachi was cancelled yesterday.
- Adding to the commuters’ woes, the departure of the Bolan Mail from Karachi to Quetta has also been cancelled for November 11.
Railway authorities are reportedly working to address the technical faults, but these recurring cancellations have severely impacted the travel plans of passengers commuting between Quetta and other major cities.
