Quetta — The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfraz Bugti, has announced a historic breakthrough in the province’s health sector, reporting a significant increase in the coverage of child immunization (vaccination) rates. This achievement is particularly crucial for a province that has long struggled with basic healthcare challenges.
According to Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, the child immunization coverage, which had remained stagnant for the past five years, has risen dramatically from 38% to 47% in just one year. He highlighted that this improvement has been verified by third-party verification and a report from a private university.
Bugti stated that under the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) in the health sector, 70% of the targets have been successfully met. He hailed this success as a major milestone for healthcare in Balochistan.
The improvement in the health sector is attributed to the provincial government’s transparent policies and enhanced governance, which has led to increased public trust. The Chief Minister asserted that this success guarantees a better and safer future for Balochistan.
The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to comment on recent security challenges, strongly condemning the “cowardly terrorists” who continue to target innocent civilians.
