Singapore: Pakistan’s top professional golfer, Ahmad Ali Baig, delivered an impressive performance during the initial two rounds of the Asian Tour’s prestigious Singapore Open, successfully making the cut and qualifying for the final weekend rounds. This marks a positive advancement for Pakistan on the global golf stage.
In this significant event, which boasts a substantial prize purse of two million US dollars, Ahmad Ali Baig played with confidence throughout the first two days. He posted an excellent score of 4-under-par (68) in the first round and followed up with 1-under-par (71) in the second, accumulating a total score of 5-under-par. This performance ensured he finished well within the cut line, which was set at 4-under-par for the tournament.
After two rounds, Ahmad Ali Baig secured the 50th position among the field of 144 golfers. In Friday’s second round, he managed to score four birdies; although a double bogey briefly affected his card, he maintained excellent focus and consistency, successfully staying inside the crucial cut-off line.
