Moscow/Islamabad: In an effort to further solidify parliamentary ties between Pakistan and Russia, a high-ranking Russian delegation is scheduled to visit Islamabad soon. The visit aims to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations’ legislative bodies.
According to a statement released by the Russian Embassy, representatives from the Russian Parliament will arrive in Pakistan to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference, set to take place on November 11 and 12.
The delegation will be led by the Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council, Senator Konstantin Kosachev, with the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, Alexander Babakov, also joining as a key leader. Another notable member of the Russian contingent will be Vladimir Chizhov, Chairman of the Russia-Pakistan Friendship Group, who previously served as an observer during Pakistan’s general elections in February 2024.
The Russian Embassy further indicated that the delegation is scheduled to hold meetings with Pakistani parliamentary leaders. During these discussions, both sides are expected to deliberate on expanding parliamentary cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors. This visit is considered a significant demonstration of the deepening diplomatic relationship and growing warmth between the two countries.
