A shameful incident involving the installation of hidden cameras inside the bathrooms of a large women’s hostel has been exposed in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu, India. The revelation has sparked fear and intense anger among thousands of female employees, leading to widespread protests against the blatant violation of their privacy. Police have since arrested a female employee and her male accomplice in connection with the cowardly act.
The incident took place at the Women’s Hostel of Tata Electronics Private Limited, an 11-storey building housing over 6,000 female employees across its 8 blocks. This exposure highlights a grave breach of the women’s personal and private lives.
According to the police, the arrested accused has been identified as 22-year-old Neelu Kumari Gupta, a resident of Odisha who worked at the same company. Investigations revealed that she installed the secret camera in the hostel bathroom on November 2, allegedly at the instigation of her friend, Santosh.
As the news broke, hundreds of female employees residing at the hostel staged a massive protest outside the premises. Following their outrage and demands for security, the police acted swiftly yesterday, apprehending both the female employee and her male friend.
Authorities have now deployed a specialized team of female police officers to conduct a thorough search of the entire hostel premises. The comprehensive sweep aims to ensure that no other hidden cameras have been planted elsewhere within the vast residence of the female staff.
