A highly unusual and tragic incident occurred in the Rohini area of New Delhi, India, where a fierce argument between two friends over an unfulfilled promise to arrange a second marriage and an exchange of money escalated into a bloody confrontation involving knives. Both individuals sustained serious injuries in the clash.
According to the police, the incident involved Jagdish and his friend, Deepak. Jagdish, whose marital life had been strained for several years, had entrusted his friend Deepak with the task of finding him a bride for a second marriage. For this purpose, Jagdish paid Deepak a total of 60,000 rupees in two installments, including 30,000 rupees in cash and another 30,000 rupees transferred online on the evening of October 7.
On the night of the incident, Deepak summoned Jagdish to the Rithala bus stand. When Jagdish inquired about the woman Deepak had promised to find, Deepak reportedly became enraged, threatening, “I will finish you, forget about marrying a second time.” He then suddenly drew a knife and stabbed Jagdish in the chest.
In a struggle for survival, Jagdish retrieved a knife and retaliated in self-defence, injuring Deepak. Deepak subsequently managed to flee the scene. Upon receiving a call to the police control room, officers arrived and rushed Jagdish to the hospital in a critical condition.
Following the investigation, the police have arrested both Deepak and Jagdish. Authorities are investigating whether Deepak had defrauded Jagdish by making a false promise of marriage or if the dispute had another origin. This incident highlights how the breakdown of trust and financial disputes in personal relationships can lead to tragic outcomes.
