Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has arrived in London for a brief stopover before heading to Brazil to participate in the 30th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP-30). Her diplomatic visit comes at a crucial time as Pakistan continues to grapple with the severe impacts of climate change.
The annual COP conference is considered the world’s largest gathering on environmental issues, where Maryam Nawaz will represent Punjab province. According to reports, the Chief Minister is slated to brief global leaders and international institutions on Punjab’s flagship climate-friendly projects. These projects reportedly encompass initiatives related to clean energy adoption, environmental protection, and the green restoration of urban centers.
During her brief stay in London, some important meetings are anticipated. Once in Brazil for the conference, Maryam Nawaz will meet with representatives from global financial bodies, international environmental organizations, and other foreign delegations.
