A deeply alarming incident has occurred at a private school in the Aliabad area of Narowal, where a ninth-grade student brought a pistol from home into the school premises. It is reported that during what was described as “mischief,” the firearm discharged, resulting in injuries to three students on campus. The incident has raised serious questions about security and gun control within educational institutions.
Police immediately responded to the scene, taking the student responsible for the firing into custody and recovering the pistol.
According to law enforcement, the weapon belongs to the boy’s father. Authorities have registered a case against both the student and the school principal, and a formal investigation has been launched to determine the full extent of negligence and responsibility.
The Deputy Commissioner reacted strongly, stating that the shooting was a direct consequence of the school administration’s grave negligence. As a disciplinary measure for the failure in maintaining safety and security, the private school has been sealed immediately, and all teaching activities have been suspended. The event serves as a distressing reminder to parents and educators about the hazardous consequences of having firearms accessible to minors.
