Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated his country’s autonomous stance on its military actions in Gaza, stating that Israel does not ask for permission from the United States for these operations.
Addressing a cabinet meeting, he clarified, “The operations carried out in Gaza are reported to the US, but no permission of any kind is sought.”
Netanyahu claimed that Hamas centers still exist in parts of the Gaza Strip, including Rafah and Khan Younis, asserting that they are “being completely eliminated” and “will be eliminated soon.”
Adopting a firm tone, he vowed to “respond forcefully” to any attempt to harm Israeli forces in Gaza and pledged to continue operations against Hamas. “If an attempt is made to attack our forces, we will target both the attackers and their organization. We will take every possible action to protect our forces,” he stated.
The Israeli Prime Minister added that he personally takes responsibility for security at the highest level and “will not abandon it under any circumstances.”
