A widely circulated video claiming to show a futuristic “Sky Stadium” in Saudi Arabia has been confirmed as a fake. The video, which was mistakenly believed to be an official design for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, was actually created using artificial intelligence (AI).
Arab media clarified that the viral video, often linked to Saudi Arabia’s Neom City, has no connection to any official government project.
The creator of the video spoke to the media, confirming it was “just an AI concept” and purely imaginary. He stated he had no knowledge of any actual Saudi project resembling his design. Despite this, the fake video amassed over 50 million views worldwide.
However, it is important to separate this fake video from the real plans. The Saudi government does intend to build 15 state-of-the-art stadiums for the 2034 World Cup.
One of these real projects includes the revolutionary “Cloud Stadium” in the Neom megacity. According to official sources, this stadium will be built at an astonishing height of 350 meters (1,150 feet) above the ground, with a seating capacity of 46,000. It is designed to be fully powered by sustainable solar and wind energy. Construction on this ambitious real stadium is set to begin in 2027 and is scheduled for completion in 2032.
