In their first official meeting, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Chinese President Xi Jinping have agreed on the need to stabilize relations between the two Asian powers.
The high-level diplomatic talks took place on the sidelines of the two-day Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit being held in South Korea.
Following the discussion, the Japanese Prime Minister stated that both nations agreed to promote “constructive and stable relations.”
During the meeting, President Xi Jinping emphasized that the two sides “should not be a threat to each other.” He also added that he hopes Japan will gain the “right impression” of China.
