Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the scenic region of Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to lay the foundation stone for a new Danish School, a project aimed at providing high-quality education to underprivileged children.
During his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that this school was not a favor, but a fundamental right of the people of Chitral. He praised the local community for their patriotism and peaceful nature, stating he was very happy to be among them. He assured the crowd that the Danish School would offer the best education completely free of charge, with full support from the federal government.
Beyond education, the Prime Minister’s speech focused heavily on national unity and security. He made a strong appeal to all provinces, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to work together to eliminate terrorism from the country. “We must demonstrate peace and unity,” he said. “Do politics, but remain united for the country’s development and the end of terrorism.”
In a significant political outreach, PM Sharif mentioned that he had personally telephoned and congratulated the newly elected Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi. He extended an offer of cooperation and expressed his hope that “he will accept my offer.”
The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to praise the bravery of Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Pakistani armed forces. He also extended his thanks to US President Donald Trump for his important role in achieving a recent ceasefire.
Before concluding his visit, PM Sharif announced further development projects for the region. He promised to build a new hospital in Chitral and declared that he would issue immediate orders for a gas plant for the area as soon as he returned to Islamabad. He also announced that laptops would be provided to the students of Chitral.
