RIYADH – The Saudi Ministry of Finance has announced the official budget performance results for the third quarter (Q3) of the fiscal year 2025, revealing that expenditures surpassed government income during the period.
According to the ministry’s report, total revenues recorded for the quarter stood at 269.9 billion riyals. In contrast, total state expenditures reached 358.9 billion riyals.
This gap between spending and income resulted in a budget deficit of 88.5 billion riyals for the third quarter.
The Ministry of Finance also detailed that oil revenues remain a critical component of the economy, contributing 150.8 billion riyals to the total income, which constitutes a significant portion of the state’s earnings for the period.
