The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has finalized its title sponsorship for the next two years, with HBL set to continue its association with the league.
Announcing the decision at a press conference in Karachi, PSL CEO Salman Naseer called it a “very important announcement.” He explained that all of the league’s contracts had concluded after its first ten years, which led to a complete re-evaluation of the brand’s worth.
In a major development, Naseer revealed that HBL had agreed to a new contract based on this independent valuation, resulting in a staggering 505% increase compared to the previous deal.
Reflecting on the league’s journey, the CEO recalled the early days of skepticism. “When we were starting the league, people didn’t have faith and were less interested,” he said, noting that only a few parties initially trusted the product. He stated that despite attempts to “defame” the league, it continued to grow and was even successfully completed during the COVID pandemic. HBL’s renewal at this significantly higher value is a testament to the league’s massive success.
