The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the men’s domestic cricket contracts for the 2025-26 season on Thursday, revealing a significant increase in both the number of contracted players and the contract categories. This move aims to further strengthen the country’s domestic cricket structure.
According to the PCB, a total of 157 domestic cricketers have been awarded contracts for the new season, a substantial rise from the 131 players contracted last year. These contracts will be valid from August 2025 to July 2026.
A major change in this year’s structure is the expansion from three to four categories. The new breakdown includes 30 players in Category ‘A’, 55 in Category ‘B’, 51 in Category ‘C’, and 21 players in the newly introduced Category ‘D’.
The board stated that all contracts were awarded based on the players’ performances during the previous season.
