Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, has harshly criticized Afghanistan, stating that “Afghanistan cannot digest Pakistan’s progress” and vowing that Pakistan “will defeat Afghanistan in this proxy war.”
Speaking on the Geo News program ‘Aaj Shahzaib Khanzada Kay Sath’, Tarar leveled direct accusations against the Afghan Taliban government, claiming they actively support the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
“Our sole demand is that Afghan soil not be used against us,” Tarar said. “We have evidence that Afghanistan’s soil is being used against us.”
The federal minister added, “The Afghan Taliban regime came and gave full support to the TTP; Afghan Taliban are involved in their formation.”
He also raised the issue of Afghan nationals entering the country. “Afghan citizens travel to every other country on a visa. What is the issue that they come to Pakistan without a visa?”
Tarar emphasized that the Taliban regime “was not coming to the point” of stopping terrorism, and it is now Pakistan’s right to respond in its own self-defense.
He questioned whether any other country would have shown the same level of patience as Pakistan. “The amount of patience and restraint Pakistan has shown, would any other country have done the same?”
The Information Minister concluded with a strong message, dismissing the threat as insignificant by stating, “Pakistan has defeated an enemy four times its size. This challenge is comparatively minor.”
