Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, has leveled a serious accusation against India, stating that India is backing the Afghan Taliban in Kabul and using Afghan territory to wage a “low-intensity war” against Pakistan.
Speaking in an interview with an Arab TV channel, the Defense Minister claimed that the Taliban are acting as India’s “proxy.”
“We have evidence of the relationship between New Delhi and the Afghan Taliban,” Khawaja Asif stated. He pointed to the timing of recent border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, noting they occurred at the exact same time a Taliban minister was visiting India.
The Federal Minister also spoke on the human cost of this aggression. He said that “several of our soldiers were martyred” in the clashes that took place with the Afghan Taliban.
He stressed that Pakistan gave a strong and full response to the aggression from the Afghan Taliban. The Defense Minister also sent a clear message for the future, a stating that if border violations continue, Pakistan reserves the right to respond, “even if it means going inside Afghanistan” if necessary.
