News: In a significant political development in Islamabad, Pakistan’s two major parties, the PML-N and the PPP, have formally decided to bring a no-confidence motion against the current government in Azad Kashmir.
Speaking to the media on Monday, central leaders from both parties announced their plan. They stated that the current government, led by Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq, has failed to meet the expectations of the people.
Ahsan Iqbal, a leader from the PML-N, explained his party’s position clearly. He said the current setup in Azad Kashmir has failed to fulfill its duties. Because of this, the PML-N will support the move but will choose to sit in the opposition afterward. “The PML-N will not join the new government. Instead, we will play an effective role for the public good from the opposition benches,” Iqbal stated.
Qamar Zaman Kaira of the PPP confirmed the joint decision. “We will be together in this and will bring this change through constitutional and democratic means,” he said.
PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf also reminded the federal government to fully implement the agreements it had previously made regarding the Kashmir crisis.
Rana Sanaullah, a senior PML-N leader, added that President Asif Ali Zardari has been fully informed about these decisions. “The PML-N will support the PPP in the no-confidence vote but will not be part of the new government,” Sanaullah clarified.
He emphasized that the goal is to solve the problems of the people. “If needed, new elections will be held to establish true public representation,” he concluded.
Political experts believe this alliance could be a major turning point for the political environment in Azad Kashmir and will strongly influence the region’s future.
